RIYADH, 13 June 2003 - Dr. Saleh Babaeer, assistant secretary-general of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, will be the chief guest at the first Filipino-Maranaw Assembly today.

The meeting is scheduled at the WAMY headquarters from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

According to Mohammed Abbas, director of WAMY’s Da’wah Affairs, the meeting will discuss a strategy for the promotion of Islam in the Filipino community in Riyadh.

Ishmael Taha will act as master of ceremonies and moderator. Non-Muslims interested in the event have been asked to contact Mohammed Abbas on 055-464270 for further information.

Among the invited umbrella organizations are the Federation of Maranaw Associations (FEMAS), Basak Consultative and Development Council (BCDC) and the Union of Muslim Associations (IMA).

There were 24 individual community organizations included in the list.
