RIYADH, 18 June 2003 — A newly formed group of Filipino architects in the Kingdom is offering design consultations for fellow OFWs, free of charge.
The founding officers of the Master Builders Association of the Philippines (MBAP), announced the design consultation as one of their long term prime projects during their recent oath-taking at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
MBAP president Ed Bangunan said the free service is part of the association’s commitment to help fellow OFWs, especially the low-income workers.
Consul General Mariano A. Dumia, who represented Ambassador Bahnarim Guinomla as inducting officer and guest speaker during the ceremony, noted that architects play a very critical role in environmental development, especially for developing countries.
Bangunan said one of organization’s objectives is to provide its members a continuing education program and to make sure they have their practitioner’s license with the Philippine Regulatory commission (PRC) up-to-date.
“It is by keeping ourselves abreast of the latest developments in the field that we can effectively compete in the global market,î Bangunan said.
Apart from Bangunan, the MBAP’s founding officers are Ernie Arcilla, vice president for internal affairs; Asiddin Arabain, VP-external; Jojo Tan, secretary; Vic Banaag, treasurer; Russel dela Cruz, auditor; Chen Mendoza, business manager; Mark Carreon, public information officer; Dadut Francisco and Abulkhayr A. Amerol, peace and order officers. Avel Adal, Arnold Corpus and Bien Valencerina are members of the Board of directors.
During the ceremony, the MBAP’s main sponsor, Al-Romaiza-Topstone conducted a seminar on its productrs, “Solid Surface” for countertops.
