ALKHOBAR, 23 June 2003 — Join VEEP and help serve the community while having some fun.

This message comes from the Volleyball Enthusiasts of the Eastern Province (VEEP), an organization whose aim is to promote volleyball as a sport throughout the Eastern Province by training and move to develop quality coaches, trainers, referees and players in anticipation of national and international competitions.

Among the plans and programs of the group is to conduct volleyball clinics and trainings, outreach programs in the towns and cities of the Eastern Province, as well as volleyball tournaments and social consciousness activities.

VEEP president Ferdinand de Peralta said a fund-raising activity will soon be launched, the proceeds of which will be for the benefit of distressed OFWs in the region.

Peralta and his team of newly elected VEEP officers were inducted into office last Friday by Ambassador Bahnarim A. Guinomla at the International Philippine School in Alkhobar (IPSA). The other officers are Rocky Lumicao, vice president for internal affairs; Ricky Piguing, VP external; Christopher Zaldariaga, secretary; Tess Amante, treasurer; Lulu Silverio, auditor; and Roberto Kim Cortez, public relations officer. Composing the Board of Directors are Ronald Espiritu, Wilson De Leon, Fermin Agrisola, Tony Briones, Louie Exclamador, Rowena Soliven and Mike Labonete.
