JEDDAH, 26 June 2003 — LG Electronics Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ssang Su Kim awarded plaques to leading distributors and dealers at the Korean giant’s “Salutations Night” at Lailaty Hall on Sunday.
Receiving the awards from Kim, who was named one of the “Stars of Asia” by Business Week in its June 9 issue, were Mohamed Yousef Naghi, chairman and chief executive officer, United Yousef M.A. Naghi Co., Electronics Division, sole distributor of LG home appliances and consumer electronics; Hassan G.I. Shaker, chairman and CEO, H.G. Ibrahim Shaker Company, exclusive distributor of LG air-conditioners; and Jamal Al-Jassim, president, J. Al-Jassim Electronics, distributor of LG’s IT products. They were honored for their outstanding business performance.
H.K. Seo, LG’s general manager in Saudi Arabia, in his opening remarks, welcomed the distributors and dealers and described them as the “pillars of success.”
He appreciated their efforts and support in boosting LG product sales in the Kingdom and credited them with the success of LG in the Kingdom.
M.B. Shin, LG president for the Middle East and Africa, highlighted the importance of partnership and said: “Partnership means mutual trust and confidence; it means sharing good and bad times. LG means nothing without its partners.”
Kim also presented awards and plaques to top LG dealers. They included COMPUTECH, PC Time, SHAMSAN, Al-Mohasib, Al-Khaleej Computer and Computer Age.
Abdullah Suleman Establishment, Al-Sabah Est., Al-Sheta and Al-Saif, and Al-Mutawa Trading received awards for being outstanding home appliance dealers.
Among the air-conditioning dealers, Al-Mutlaq International Air Conditioning, Shehab Air Conditioning, Yehya Thabet Trading Est., Mousa Bin Gaith Est. and Modern Electronic Home Est., received plaques of appreciation and awards for their outstanding business practices.
Mohamed Yousef Naghi and Jamal Al-Jassim presented awards and plaques to the visiting team of three LG management executives.
S.M. Arshad, LG’s deputy general manager, in his introductory remarks described the evening as a “star-studded event” and appreciated the role of LG partners in the Korean giant’s success across the Kingdom.
Among those present were Ahmed Sfarjilani, vice president, United Naghi; sol Bounacklie, vice president Shaker Company; and Khalid Moustafa, general manager, Al-Jassim.
