RIYADH, 27 June 2003 — Bowler’s Coalition Party (BCP) recorded an overwhelming landslide victory over their opponents, the Unified Bowlers Party in the just concluded FOBR election held at the Riyadh Bowling Club (RBC) and the Al-Khozama Hotel Bowling Center.
Shakur Kamlian was voted in as the newly elected chairman of the FOBR. Shakur won by a wide margin over his rival, the former FOBR chairman, Boy Fogata.
Egay Asuncion was voted as the Director for External Affairs and Sanctioning. Rod Tagaban was elected as Director for Internal Affairs, male division. Ellen Bernabe, the incumbent FOBR secretary was voted this time as the Director for Internal Affairs in the female division, beating out Pat Nave. BCP’s candidate Lulu Quejada, a sure winner for the Director for Finance position was disqualified, and the post went to Jimmy Ocampo. RBC’s bowling manager, Rommel Romano beat Bernie Sarmiento for the position of Director for Technical Affairs in the male division. In the ladies divison, Gladys Acosta was unanimously voted as director for technical affairs. BCP’s tandem, Rizal Dellosa and Prima Abulencia were the run-away winners as the Directors for Membership in the male and female division. Alma Lee of the Unified Bowlers Party was elected as secretary.
The induction of officers will be held very soon and invited to grace the affair are Ambassador Bahnarim Guinomla, Boy Tuazon, president of the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers, Eastern Region, Jun Canar, chaiperson of the Khobar’s 500, Rene San Pedro, president of FTBJ and Vher Crisostomo, chairman, Asir Tenpin Bowling League.
