48% Vote in Jubail School Elections

JUBAIL, 29 June 2003 — The first managing committee of the International Indian School, Jubail, was elected yesterday after heavy polling in which nearly 48 percent of eligible voters cast their votes to elect a seven-member committee.

According to Zikrur Rahman, first secretary at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and in charge of Indian schools, more than 420 parents cast their votes to elect the committee.

Dr. Saleem Khan polled the maximum number of votes and was elected with 358 votes. He was followed by Dr. Shakeel Ahmad with 309 votes, Syed Zakaullah Masud with 305, Syed Imtiaz Ahmad with 303, S.A. Nizamuddin with 295, Dr. Suhail Ahmad with 264 and Benny Jose with 235.

With the Jubail school elections, all international Indian schools now have elected managing committees.
