KUWAIT, 30 June 2003 — A court in Kuwait yesterday sentenced a Kuwaiti man to death for the rape and murder of an eight-year-old Pakistani girl.
According to reports, Farraj Mansour, 32, has one month to appeal against the ruling, which follows a death sentence against three men and a woman last year over the murder and rape of another child. They have not yet been executed.
Kuwait has a large expatriate population, including many Pakistanis and others from the Indian Subcontinent who come in search of jobs.
