CAIRO, 1 July 2003 — Egyptian director Einas Al-Dughadi has filed a lawsuit against the ART TV channel, Asharq Al-Awsat said. The channel had shown parts of her new movie entitled “Teenager’s Diary” which had not yet been cleared by the Egyptian censorship board. Al-Dughadi said the clips might therefore be detrimental to both herself and her film, once it is cleared by the censor. Al-Dughadi herself participated in the program by phone.
She verbally attacked a member of the audience for criticizing the film and describing her as a low-quality director.
