RIYADH, 4 July 2003 — The Filex Malubay dart team headed by Dado Corpuz pulled off a twin kill in last Friday’s showdown at the Cues Recreation Center here. They survived a tough decision match in game No. 1 against veteran team Ace Metro Star 1 of Manny Barroga, 9-8 and went on for the slaughter in second game opposite MRM Phoenix Bulls of Joel Calayo, 10-7.

Filex and Ace Metro Star shared the singles match 4-all, but the Ace contingent gained the upper hand in the doubles scoring 4 against 2 for Filex ending the doubles in their favor, 8-6. In the deciding leg, Filex’s Edwin Canales scored a T40 giving his team a pull off but Vic Manaois returned fire with a ton (100). Romy Artieda finally hit a 3 out shot for his team’s second victory.

In their second match against MRM, Filex scored 4 in the beginning and in the doubles round swept all three matches resulting in an easy victory. The no bearing team match was donated to the MRM Phoenix darters. Filex enjoys this league’s top post with a 3-0 win-loss record.

Utex Striker Point of Francis Augusto also came strong bagging two separate victories. They beat contender COD Wakaray in the preliminary match, 10-7 and downed SkyFreight STR in the second game, 9-8.

Edwin Canales and Lino Leonardo recorded the day’s least dart at 15 and 18 darts respectively. Banny Alagar of Metro Star 1 scored 109 recording the first highest out shot of this league. Edgar Andayran, Edwin Canales, Boy Augusto and Benjie Ciasico joined this event’s Ton80 Club. Bullseye king were awarded to Romy Artieda, Rudy Metrillo and Cenon Daquiz for a cherry out shot.
