RIYADH, 4 July 2003 — Thoroughbred cagers Peter Hernando, Noel Ramos, Carreon Brothers (Abel and Reden) and Jeff Salac proved themselves to be part of Trane team’s assets after whipping another powerhouse team, KKIA Jets of MacNarona 64-60.

Both teams showed sterling performances as Jets’ Jun Gantan’s blind pass to Roy Fernandez gave them a 3-point lead at the onset. Yulo Torion’s Trane team used their strength and banked on the abilities of Reden Carreon, Angel Fabro, Aries Palmero, Farid Badawi and the timely perimeter jump shot of Peter Hernando to get the momentum in their favor 14-13 at the end of the first canto.
The Jets through Orr Dilao, Allain Catalan, Ador Aguinaldo, Gerry Sazon and Richard Hadlocon worked hard to regain their lead and with fast breaks and 3-pointer shots and a forced lay-up of Michael Constantino made it 21-16. But Hernando provided his team with a back-to-back shot, Jeff Salac tied the ballgame with 41 seconds left and Noel Ramos’ conversion of a free-throw, and Mike Constantino’s buzzer beating shot saw the first half conclude 29-27 in Trane’s favor.
A series of deadlocks till the last 2 minutes happened and the costly error of Jun Gantan gave the Trane boyz the opportunity to use the clock, 23 seconds. On the last few ticks, Allain Catalan committed a foul off Hernando while splitting the penalty shots. The Jets hoped for a 3-pointer but it failed to materialize as the Trane squad sealed the ballgame by a 4 points margin in their favor.
