JEDDAH, 8 July 2003 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, thanked the families of those wanted in connection with the recent terrorist acts for cooperating with the authorities and handing over and reporting the suspects.
He said the Saudi people and leadership were united in their stand against the errant group and their supporters, and would spare no effort to arrest them and close their hide-outs.
The crown prince again called on the young to make productive use of the long school vacation by getting involved in summer camps organized by the Ministry of Education, which offer sports activities as well as cultural, scientific and social programs.
Addressing the weekly Cabinet session held at Al-Salam Palace, the crown prince underlined the need to protect the security of the country and said this was the duty of every Saudi man and woman.
“Deterring anyone who threatens the country’s security is a religious duty because Islam calls for the protection of human life and property,” Culture and Information Minister Dr. Fouad Abdul Salam Al-Farsi told the Saudi Press Agency following the meeting.
