RIYADH, 11 July 2003 — The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), Joel Purificacion and Francis Guron displayed awesome performances to share awards in the 5th week of the Interbank Tenpin Bowling League, 2003 Conference being played at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Center.
SAMA-SMB/IBM mentored by Teody Zulaybar outplayed WWW. Shbonline. com (210-160) to bag their first Team of the Week award. Bernie Torres, Zulaybar and Clem c displayed deadly forms, with Torres knocking down a series of 793 points and supported by Zulaybar and Guelas with a series of 752 and 737. Efren del Carmen and Remy Generales added 526 and 518 in three games.
SAMA collected an overall team series handicap of 3,656 pinfalls. Rodel Yap led WWW. Shbonline by posting a series of 794. Efren Castro toppled 656 series in four games. Greg Antonio, Ben Cariaga and Bert Sabinay followed with 557, 551 and 545 in three matches. Gerry Ayonon had a series of 344 in two games. Shbonline registered overall team series handicap of 3,591 pinfalls. PNB-Unified team demolished the Banque Saudi Fransi (210-160) to snatch the top spot. Joel Purificacion, the bowler of the week honoree powered PNB-Unified quintet with a four game series of 806.
Jun Pineda and Jun Evangelista rolled a separate series of 772 and 722. Ben Torreffiel scored a series of 547 in three matches while Cholo Nieto scored 325 in two games.
The duo of Jess Bersamin and Yusof Fernandez who tallied a series of 754 and 744 in four games led in Banque Saudi Fransi.
The defending champions, the Saudi Investment Bank rolled past the Saudi British Bank-Sabbinvest (205-105). Fred Villarosa powered SAIB with a series of 734 in four games. Jun Ego, Faisal Al-Rashid and Jimmy Ocampo posted series of 670, 639 and 623. Edwin Fontiveros and Dong Calub chipped in a series of 382 and 332 in two games. Topscoring in Saudi British Bank was Rey Dela with 706 series in four sets. Leny Lehiyo, Willy Pamilaran, Vic Marzo and Ruel Barayoga contributed a series of 580, 532, 502 and 500. Bong Rodrigo got a series of 307 in two games. Sabbinvest produced a total team series handicap of 3,464 pinfalls.
The matches between Saudi American Bank and the Saudi British Bank-Sabbnet tied at 100 all. Bowler of the week awardee, Francis Guron of Saudi British Bank collected a four-game series of 806. Ramil Espiritu and Dodie Vizcara scored a series of 737 and 694 in four matches. Cesar Soriaga, Johnny Cayetano and Luis Bonguit shot a two game series of 318, 315 and 303. For the Saudi American Bank team captained by Allan dela Rosa, Deo Santiago fired a series of 667 in four games.
