JEDDAH, 12 July 2003 — A royal decree has promoted Director General of Makkah Police Saeed ibn Abdullah Al-Qahtani to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed him director general of security, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday. Interior Minister Prince Naif has appointed the former director general, Gen. Asaad ibn Abdulkareem Al-Fareeh, adviser to his office.
