RIYADH, 25 July 2003 — Jeff Baybay of Pacific Cargo Forwarders poured in a game-high 41 points to lead all scorers against defending champion Al Bustan RMC in the ongoing RKH-MHBA Inter-Company Open Division being held at the RKH Skydome.
The win gave Pacific Cargo an unbeaten record (3-0) to stay atop the preliminary rounds followed by Al Badan Landscaping.
Pacific Cargo’s mentor and coach Nepomuceno provided his boys enough boost to stop the running game of Al Bustan RMC cagers and in the last 50 seconds of play, Mike Placino delighted the crowd with his awesome passing skills and quickness. The ballgame ended with Pacific Cargo leading by 10 points 88-78.
In the other match, Al Badan Landscaping took advantage of Al Nasser’s disability having only 5 players playing for their team, thrashing them 109-77.
The trio Rod Ayson, Dave Gana and Rey Gelilio supported by Quinones took turns in routing Al Nasser club with Muhammad Salamah, who pulled down 19 big rebounds. The win gave Al Badan a likewise unbeaten record (2-0) behind the powerhouse Pacific Cargo Forwarders.
Al Badan Landscaping, which is composed of veteran players in Riyadh, will be going up against the mighty Pacific Cargo Forwarders this coming weekend, a match which many consider the preview of the finals with both teams having the finest cagers in Riyadh.
