RIYADH, 25 July 2003 — The Dunkin Donuts team of Omar Cielo prevailed Over Jarir Bookstore squad, of Johnny Castillo and Jess Ordinario, 77-59. Jarir Bookstore along with Al-Jomaih have to win their remaining games to assure their respective teams the last slot position in the eighth week of action of the Jeraisy Group of Companies Inter-Company (Bonafide) Basketball Tournament being held at the Jeraisy Staff Compound Basketball Court, Exit 7 (back of Al-Imam University, Riyadh).
Host team Jeraisy Group of Rico Malaluan and Alvin Mendoza still are in the No. 1 position with 6 wins and 1 loss, Zahran team of Arnel Ardamoy placed second with 5 wins and 1 loss, Pizza Hut of Jojo Ben were in third place with 5 wins and 2 losses while the Kudu team of Orly Casimero and Aries Quiambao ranked 4th with 4 wins and 1 loss.
The Bookstore team took the upper hand with Rodel Realica scoring inside and outside while Owen Del Rosario took charge of the rebounds that gave Jarir 15 points lead early in the match. Donuts guys’ Dick Policarpio, Vincent Estrada, veteran Ronald Solis, Renato San Diego and Allan Galang hit a hot streak as the Donuts slowly re-took the lead and held on to a 18 point advantage and are sure of the remaining slot should they continue winning their remaining games.
