DUBAI, 26 July 2003 — Emirates Airline is hosting this year’s annual conference of the International Association of Airline Internal Auditors (IAAIA) from Oct. 19-22. This is the first time the conference will be held in the Middle East. Taking as its theme, “Success through sharing,” the conference at the Jebel Ali Beach Resort will be inaugurated by Emirates’ vice chairman and group president Maurice Flanagan, and attended by more than 100 airline audit professionals from around the world. “This conference will bring together the best in the profession worldwide, where they can share their knowledge and experience. Delegates will also have the chance to get to grips with real life business situations and audit issues,” he said in a press release. Meanwhile, the recent visit by Emirates Airline’s chairman Sheikh Ahmed ibn Saeed Al-Maktoum to Moscow generated a vote of confidence in the airline and in Dubai among top Russian official circles.
