CAIRO, 28 July 2003 — Egyptian shares ended flat yesterday as investors kept a cautious eye on slippage in shares of heavyweight Orascom Telecom (OT) amid sluggish summer holiday volumes, traders said. The benchmark Hermes index added 19 points, or 0.2 percent, to last trade at 8,228.61 points, while the broader CIBC index eased 0.05 points, or 0.1 percent, to 76.32. OT shares last traded off 1.21 pounds ($0.20), or 3.5 percent, at 33.61 pounds, closing officially at 34.17.
