JIZAN, 4 August 2003 — When his child developed complications from his medication, a man here returned to the doctor to complain, only to be told that the pharmacist had given him the wrong drugs. On making enquiries at the pharmacy, the man discovered that the “pharmacist” who had filled his prescription was in fact the pharmacy’s cleaner. When questioned, the cleaner admitted impersonating a pharmacist because it boosted his self-esteem to be asked to help people in life-and-death situations.
