JEDDAH, 6 August 2003 — Bahrain’s Interior Minister Sheikh Muhammad ibn Khalifa Al-Khalifa yesterday pledged his country’s full support for Riyadh’s efforts to root out terrorism and establish peace and stability in the Kingdom.
Speaking to reporters after talks with Interior Minister Prince Naif, the Bahraini minister commended Saudi Arabia’s leading efforts in combating international terrorism and extremism.
He reiterated Manama’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia. “We will stand by Saudi Arabia and provide all-out support for all the measures taken by the Kingdom to fight extremism and stamp out terrorism,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted him as saying.
Sheikh Muhammad said his talks with Prince Naif were aimed at strengthening security cooperation between the two Gulf neighbors.
The Bahraini minister later left the Kingdom and was seen off at Jeddah airport by Deputy Interior Minister Prince Ahmed, Lt. Gen. Talal Anqawi, director general of border guards, Lt. Gen. Saeed Al-Qahtani, director of public security, and other senior officers.
