RIYADH, 6 August 2003 — A camel breeder has taken to gliding to watch over his flock and track stray animals, Al-Watan said yesterday. The breeder hit on the idea of taking up gliding himself after a group of gliders helped him find a lost camel.
The gliders scoured the desert from above and were able to pinpoint the stray camel. A search party then recovered the animal.
The breeder enrolled in a gliding course despite the fact that flying was totally alien to him and found to his surprise that he took to the air like a duck to water.
