JEDDAH, 8 August 2003 — Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmud Abbas arrived here late yesterday on the first leg of a Gulf trip, but what would have been a groundbreaking visit to Kuwait has been put off. Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom Mustafa Al-Sheikh Deeb told AFP the visit to Kuwait, which had been due to follow one to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) slated for Sunday, was postponed “for reasons beyond our control”.
