RIYADH, 8 August 2003 — Dick Policarpio, Renato (Bebe) San Diego and Ronald Solis of the Dunkin Donuts team, with the big chance to be one of the semifinal partakers in the ninth week of action of the Jeraisy Group of Companies Inter-Company.

This (Bonafide) Basketball Tournament is being held at the Jeraisy Staff Compound Basketball Court, Exit 7 (behind Al-Imam University, Riyadh) whipped the Golden Grass squad of Nestor De Castro and John Caballero in an 80-67 battle.

Bebe San Diego’s 13 points gave the Donuts a commanding 18 points lead at the end of first quarter. Golden Grass James Buhay, Omar Cabal and Ramil Ellacoria tried to stay in contention, but the fast game play of the Donuts paved the way to increase their lead by attacking the defense of Golden Grass boyz.

Arnel Ardamoy’s Zahran team went down the fray with Jhun Datu opening the match with Mashar team with a three pointer.

Mashar troop played well on defense with playing coach Jessie Uy converting while Rivera dominating the board. Jess Ritualo topscored in the Zahran team with good defense closing the curtains with a 65-52 score.

With high hopes of finishing the last phase of the elimination round optimistically, Coach Orly Casimero of the Kudu team banked on the abilities of his rugged defense and a running game in their latest outing with the Al-Jomaih team of Cip Lacap.

Manuel Calma led Kudu’s scoring board with his 21 points, Rey Sillo and Frando (Pandoy) Rodejo scored 15 points apiece while Larry Cabral, Romeo Deraco and Jerry Maldicas headed Al-Jomaih’s scoresheet in this battle where Kudu prevailed 109-48 team.

This league is coordinated by Riad Siblini, Ed Tamayo, Larry Gabuni, Ernie Dela Cruz, and being officiated by the FCBR Referees while Chito Solis served as the anchorman.
