JEDDAH , 20 August 2003 — The Cabalen Invitational Team Tennis Tournament is to be held simultaneously at Al Bilad Hotel Tennis Courts and Sheraton Hotel Tennis Courts from Aug. 22 to Sept. 26. The event features 3 Doubles with 1 Reserve, played on 8 games per set and best of three contest. The tournament is limited to Category C, B2 and B1.
In a meeting held at La Parilla Restaurant here, the officers of Association of Cabalen Expatriates (ACE) chaired by Oscar Tuazon agreed to hold the event under the sports section of the organization headed by Romy Bugarin, AFTA President.
The ACE key officers who had attended the meeting include are: Oscar Tuazon (Chairman), Ed Rufino (ACE Former Chairman and now Adviser for the group) and Rod Manansala (Secretary).
The tournament committee is headed by Romy Bugarin (Tournament Chairman), Vhoi Reyes (Vice Chairman), Dennis Manese (Tournament Director), Roland Santos (Technical Committee Chairman), Flor Reyes (Treasurer), Erwin Pangan (Press Release Officer) with Lito Dare, Eden Paras, Rod Reyes and Philip Bolus as members of the Technical Committee.
All entries shall conform to the unified classification of ASTEC and AFTA.
Entry forms are available at Al Bilad Hotel Recreation center or can be downloaded @ jeddahtennis.com. Deadline of entries is Aug. 20, with a meeting to follow through at Al Bilad Hotel Tennis Courts to draw up the groupings.
