RIYADH, 22 August 2003 — The Mindanao’s RTC-D’Hardcore team clawed their way to victory 39-31 against ABV Rock Group’s Meteor Volley team.
Jam Umpat and Wawie Tanig followed by brothers Saifuddin and Samsuddin Mauntol blanked their opponents 8-0 respectively, while Yacob Tamano and Sami Ali were out-maneuvered 3-8 by Abe Carullo and Ben Dulay in the third game.
Eke Boy Lutian and Habib Ali Batua were swept easily 6-8 by Boboy Ramos and Tony Alejandria. Malic Baulio and Badick Sani won 8-7 over Ed Galing and Habib Ullah. In the last game, Nasser Nanong and Jun Zakaria were disposed off 6-8 by Odi Dalida and Al Pinpin. Smart Shots progressed with a 44-28 win over D’Patriot Builders. In the 1st game, Neal Perez and Romy Suarez blasted at 8-3 Gerome Corpuz and Gary Ramos. Archie Fabro and partner mauled at 8-5 Arnel Caburnay and Simeon Pantaleon. Anjo Suarez and Anthony Simplicio downed Vic Capulong and Ed Minas at 8-4 in the 3rd game.
Rey Beninsig and Darwin Suson were crushed 8-4 by Eoji Lacno and Roland Dela Cruz. Alfred Pastolero and Jimmy Perfas brushed aside at 8-2 Edwin Sajonia and Larry Berroya. Rene Sumido and Arjay Suarez whipped at 8-6 Ed Galvez and Celso Garcia in the last game.
The DQ Hunks headed by Bert Oliva and Cesar Unabia battered at 41-25 the SAIB Net Busters team. SACIR group headed by Ben Baricuatro and Eric Ocampo completed a 39-37 win over the Match Pointers team. SBAHC mentored by Romy Noceja and Ding Verdan edged a hard fought battle against the SEC’s Kharabha team at 40-35.
