JEDDAH, 22 August 2003 — The 1st JSMG Basketball Tournament in cooperation with Almajal ServiceMaster and sponsored by Tharwat Al-Gharbia Al-Haditha for food and Consumers is set to take off today at Almajal ServiceMaster Ground Complex.
The colorful parade of 23 participating teams will ensure to bring the audience excitement in addition with special appearance of some distinguish guests and individual as well as of those community leaders in Jeddah.
Ms. Jenet Cervito a sensational singer of Jeddah along with the grand champion of Star Quest 2003 Jeddah will be attending the event.
Many other events are in store. The surprise dance number of Almajal Mha-Cute Maneuvers comprising Zolio, Allen, Ronel & Eric, “The Reflection Band” featuring Henry Hipolito along with the Almajal acoustic singers starring Atoy & Ryan plus singer Ms. Candy Perez are lined up for the show.
Labor Attaché Atty. Nasser Munder, the major sponsor Abdul Moonem Al-Ayoobi Al-Ansari and top executives of Almajal ServiceMaster Co. headed by Kamal Hassan Bakhsh, asst. executive GM-administration (A) are also likely to attend.
Almajal Servicemaster will take on Fedex team to set the ball rolling. According to Taha Al-Harazy team manager of Fedex the match will be covered and will be shown at the headquarters in the US.
Referees to be officiating the game is the Basketball Referees Group (BRG) headed by Nany Castro, vice chairman, Peter Ronatay, spokeperson, Ric Lumasag, Trainor Rey Jano, Lito dela Cruz, Pet Roblo, Atoy Anico, Bong Cachuela, Yoyong Juaniti, Many (Pepsi), Jobert, Larry San Pedro, Abadin Gunaw and Jing Abalos
Officers and members of the committee are Ed Picache — president, Efren Dennis Eco — chairman, Ken Bautista — commissioner/tournament dir., Zaldy Mohammad — finance/marketing director, Ric Lumasag — technical director, Ruben De Guzman — sport announcer, Maruel — Timer, Alvin — scorer, Boy Parohinog and Richard Bautista — table scorers. Almajal Security — Marshall, Allen Avenido & Pudi Dalida.
Utility and officiating advisers are headed by Ben Garcia, Gil Cortez and Ismael Mike Ali.
JSMG President Ed Picache and Chairman Dennis Eco along with other officers and members of the tournament invite all aficionados of basketball to grace the grand opening, where apart from some exciting games there will be surprise give aways.
