JEDDAH, 29 August 2003 — The Community Chess Club (CCC) Series 10 will kick off on Sept. 5 at the Al-Faf Hotel. Games begin at 2:00 p.m. and CCC will be open until 9:00 p.m. every Friday.
The tournament will start with a double round robin of Semi-Active Chess (15-15 minutes) and will end with the stepladder knockout final. The position of the players in the final will depend on the number of points they accumulate from the round robin.
The final will be best of two games (30-30 minutes each) or equivalent to one hour per game. In the playoff it will be sudden death (15-15 minutes). The white pieces must win while draw for black is a win.
Meanwhile, the Series Ten is in the process of registration. The weekly one-day tournament of Semi-Active Chess is now ongoing. This event is free of charge except for a token fee of SR20 to cover dinner and prizes.
The registration starts by 3 p.m. and games begin at 4 p.m. every Friday.
