RIYADH, 30 August 2003 — Saudi Telecom Company and Al-Theyab Transportation Company signed last week a SR6 million contract that has made Al-Theyab the official carrier of STC for towers and cables between the Kingdom’s cities. It also allows the company to act on behalf of STC in flying out replacement SIM cards to STC subscribers.
Abdul Aziz M. Arrukban, general manager of the company, claimed delivery times varied from 24 to 48 hours, depending on the distance. The service is available at a flat rate of SR100.
He said Al-Theyab, with its fleet of around 1500 trucks and trailers, has been engaged in providing transportation services to its clients, including some major clients like the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, SABIC and STC. Arrukban said the company, which has a workforce of around 900 drivers, technicians and administrative personnel, provides land transportation, sea and air cargo.
