ALKHOBAR, 5 September 2003 — The Overseas Filipino Workers Sports Enthusiasts Association (OFW-SEA) has concluded negotiations for the opening of its 1st Open Invitational Basketball tournament to be held at the Al Qadisiya Sport Club complex in Alkhobar.

The tournament officially starts on Sept. 5 and runs until the middle of December. The program starts at 9 o’clock in the morning with a parade of the participating teams. Philippine Embassy officials are expected to attend the opening ceremonies together with the sponsors, managers and coaches of each participating teams.

Al Qadisiya Sports complex is located at 16th street in Akrabeyah near Tamimi Market. This first tournament of OFW-SEA is sponsored by Al Bahar Restaurant.

Teams with confirmed entries are: Fluor Daniel, ACEC, Batang Rizal, Kabayan Restaurants, Al Osais, Saad Specialist Hospital, Al Ansari, Saudi Telecommunication Co., Saad Contracting Co. (Saad Falcons), Al Bahr (Lucky Me), Al Jomaih, Saipem SA Ltd., Sipco Finex, Dammam Dome, Arcan Vita, SADIP, Universal Motors Agency, Aujan Softdrinks, Arcon, Universal Markets “Berks”, Liwin Elevators, Gentec, Al Mouwasat Hospital, Middle East Battery Co., Hempel Paints Co., Armed Forces Military Hospital, Saudi Formaldehyde Chemical Co., Al Safar, Haji Hussein Ali Reza Co. (Mazda), Desert Jack and United Bicolanos.
