ALKHOBAR, 5 September 2003 — The 3rd Telemoney Tennis Doubles Cup will kick-off next week at the Algosaibi Hotel Tennis courts in Alkhobar.

This event marks the 15th year anniversary of the Bankers Tennis Association, which organizes tennis tournaments in the Eastern Region.

The event will feature top teams from the Eastern Province and Riyadh against two selected tennis players from Germany and Eastern Europe.

The European team was invited by the Sports Division of Gulf Haulage and Heavy Lift Co chaired by Ed Kur, the prime mover of Jubail Tennis Club at the Mortco compound in Jubail. Marius and Patrick Kur will lead the European team, according to Alex Navarro, one of the BTA tournament director.

The Kur brothers outlasted their opponents in the exhibition matches held at the Algosaibi Hotel in Alkhobar and at the Hotel Inter-Continental tournament in Riyadh last March.

Expected also to participate are Filip Urban, Radek Stepanek, Frantisek Cermak, Lukasz Kubot, Jens Knipschild, Lars Burgsmuller, Nenad Zimonjic, and Dick Norman. The team from the Eastern Province will be formed by Filipino tennisters like Cocoy Ares of Al Jol, Roderick Lazaro and Sonny Santos of the National Guard Hospital.

The team from Riyadh will be composed of Alvin Ebreo, Arnold Luut, Cecil Llavares, and Willy Biay. The major sponsor of the event is the Telemoney Remittance Center of Arab National Bank in cooperation with PNB and RCBC in the Philippines.
