RIYADH, 12 September 2003 — The Al Mashrik team of Gerry de Guzman and Paul Praga, the frontrunner team in the BC Category dominated the court to gun their opponent when Nelson Etor and Paul Praga got the better of Rick Marquez and Mario Torrefiel at 8-6.
Gil Gasga and Tim San Gabriel also hit Moises Manimtim and Ricky Marquez hard at 8-3 in their remaining games with the Friends team.
In other matches, Moises Manimtim and Ricky Marquez of the Friends team powered past the Tomahawk group of Lorry Adalim and Rey Sanchez at 8-6 in their reset game.
For other updates of this season’s event - Power Brokers, Aces & Faults, Lucky Shots and Limvudocie teams are the prime contenders for the possible post in the ABC Category. Al Mashrik, Smart Shots, Aero Balls, The Volleygators for the BC Category, however, in the C Category, D’Equalizers, Siemens, D’Racqueteers and SBAHC are the possible placers.
This event of the Association of Filipino Tennis Players (AFTP) in Riyadh played on Wednesdays from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and on Thursdays and Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. is being held at the sprawling Al Yamama Hotel Sports Complex.
