Pilipina Lifts Mizan/Salam Rice to Impressive Tally in ICFBL Tilt

JEDDAH, 19 September 2003 — Jun Pilipina inspired the Mizan/Salam Rice bowling team to post 50 points and a convincing overall total team series handicap of 3,004 points.

Mizan/Salam Rice’s performances in last week’s action, put them as the current league leaders in the 3rd week of the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) Inter-Commercial Family Bowling League (ICFBL) being held at the Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center located at the Mosadia Plaza.

Pilipina, a one time champion, carded a three game series scratch of 707. Pilipina rolled 226, 245 and 236.

Mar Cabrera, Rally Zamora, Ester Jalata and Margie Villasanta provided support by contributing a separate three game series of 535, 530, 516 and 470.

Meanwhile, the Tipong Suave and the Al-Zamil Heavy Industries team keglers shared the bowling limelight with Mizan/Salam Rice by posting 45 and 40 points, respectively.

For Tipong Suave, Boy Ramos and Val Magsino carded a separate series of 590 and 546 in three sets. Ramos had 234 while Magsino sealed 201 in his total series. Tim Skar submitted a series of 511.

Che Bautista and Rose Parinas scored a series of 480 and 473 in three outings.

For Al-Zamil Heavy Industries team, Jess Pineda led with a three game series of 564. Jay Perez and Mao Orolfo followed by knocking-down 525 and 515 series in three outings. Linda and Jess Escondo added a series of 446 and 428. The Al-Zamil quintet registered a handicap of 2745 pinfalls.

The Malaysia Airlines team keglers collected 38 points with one-time 300 record holder Roger Daquioag posting a series of 644 on lines of 234, 200 and 210. Sam Ocampo toppled 500 series while FTBJ secretary-general, Luis T. Luna scored 441. Grace Dasas and Aleli Sacdo scored 415 and 352.

A total of 35 points and 2,701 points were registered by the NPS team through the combined efforts of Goying Salazar (552), Romy Vargas (550), Emil Payongayong (485), Pinky Acato (483) and Beth Concepcion (469).

Sadafco-Saudia Majestic team keglers went home with 28 points with Luz Pagaran who submitted a series of 538 in three matches.
