MANAMA, 22 September 2003 — The $1.3 billion Bahrain Financial Harbor, now under construction is designed to transform the island state into a global economic center. The 38-hectare harbor development is aimed to promote the state to the premier league of world players as the focal point to service the $2,000 billion regional asset pool. It now aims to become the regional equivalent of London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. The project capitalizes on 30 years of Bahrain’s financial leadership, according to a press release.
