RIYADH, 24 September 2003 — The Interior Ministry has directed all licensed limousine companies to implement the Royal Decree to Saudize their drivers.
A committee made up of representatives from the ministries of interior, transport and labor has been set up to implement the law.
The ministry warned that violators would be punished.
Unofficial estimates put the number of foreign taxi drivers in the Kingdom at more than 50,000, the majority of them in the main cities.
