JEDDAH, 3 October 2003 — Pakistan’s Ambassador Abdul Aziz Mirza has urged Pakistani students in the Kingdom not to rest on their laurels but strive for more successes in the future. “You’ve to get unprecedented successes ahead of you. You’re the pillars of your nation,” the ambassador told graduates at a prize distribution ceremony at the Pakistan International School Jeddah (PISJ) recently.
Mansoor Al-Ghazali, director for foreign education for the Makkah region, and members of the board of directors, parents, teachers and prize-winning students took part in the ceremony. The ambassador, who gave away prizes to the students obtaining A-1 grades, and positions in the federal board and local examinations, hailed the achievements of both students and teachers.
The principal said the school’s results in the federal board exams were better than those of any other school in the Kingdom and elsewhere in the Middle East. In 2002 the school students secured two top positions in the federal board examinations.
In 2003, students secured three top positions in the SSC and HSSC examinations. Maymoona Rauf came second in the SSC federal board examination, while in the intermediate examination Lubna Javaid secured first position in the pre-engineering group. “Summayia Shaheen proved to be the jewel of the school with first position in intermediate examination of the federal board in the general science group,” the principal said. Moreover, 46 students obtained A-1 grades in matriculation examination while 22 others got A-1 grades in the intermediate examination.
