RIYADH, 8 October 2003 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, yesterday telephoned Syrian President Bashar Assad and said Saudi Arabia will stand by Damascus in the face of Israeli aggression. He also praised Syria’s restraint after Sunday’s attack.
