JEDDAH, 9 October 2003 — The Circulo Ilonggo Saudi Arabia (CISA), the organization of Hiligaynon-speaking expatriates in Jeddah, has planned a “Pagtililipon” (assembly) on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Philippine Consulate.
CISA president Juliet Roa said the highlight of the affair is the induction of members of working committees that were formed to help group deliver its projects lined up for this year.
In between, there will be various numbers that will showcase the “heritage of Hiligaynons.” Alex Binal, the show’s main man, said spectators will be given a glimpse of CISA’s beginnings in a multi-media presentation titled “Pagtanaw — A Looking Back.”
Another number, titled “Pasundayag Ilonggo” will display singing and dancing skills of various Ilonggos working in hospitals in the city.
The night will conclude with a candle lighting ceremony or “Kandila sang Paghiliugyon” meant to remind Hiligaynons in Jeddah that they must unite.
