JEDDAH, 9 October 2003 – Saudi Arabia smashed Bhutan’s hopes with a 6-0 walloping of the Himalayan Kingdom to stay ahead of Indonesia in the Asian Group Qualifier here yesterday. Both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, who defeated Yemen 3-0 earlier, have six points and their matchup would decide the group winner.

The Kingdom lads ran up a five-goal tally by the break and eased up on the attack after knowing fully well that the game was won. They wrapped up the proceedings with a 90th minute strike from Saeed Al-Wadani. Earlier Yosri Al-Basha (6th), Abdullah Al-Jamman (8th and 25th) Yassir Al-Qahtani (28th) and AbdulAziz Al-Janoubi (42nd) were the other scorers.
