NEW DELHI, 10 October 2003 — Economic ties between Saudi Arabia and India are heading for a major leap. Headed by Abdul Rahman Al-Jeraisy, chairman of Jeraisy Group of Companies and chairman of the Council of Saudi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a high-ranking business delegation representing about 30 major business houses in Saudi Arabia is expected in New Delhi in the coming week.

During its seven-day visit, the delegation will visit New Delhi, Bombay and Hyderabad. Its meetings with members of Indian trade and industry are being organized by major Indian organizations such as CII, FIEO, FICCI, Indo-Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry and ASSOCHAM.

During a press briefing given by Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in New Delhi, Saudi Arabian Ambassador Saleh Mohd Ali-Ghamdi said, “This visit of the Saudi private sector will strive to expand and deepen already existing bilateral commercial and economic relations between India and Saudi Arabia.
