JEDDAH, 10 October 2003 — Defending champions Dove Bar dominated the 8th week of the 30th Conference of the All Filipino Tenpin Bowling League (AFTBL) organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) under the leadership of its president, Rene San Pedro. The games are being held every Saturday at the Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center.
Nap Patayan powered Dove Bar to 41 big points. Patayan rolled a series of 613 scratch and had on lines of 194, 213 and 206. Joey Salvador, Edwin Ronquillo, Jess Pineda and Mar Cabrera, contributed separate series of 585, 584, 582 and 521. Ronquillo rolled a game-high 246. Dove Bar tallied a total team output of 2,960 points.
Dove Bar’s arch-rival, the SkyFreight Forwarders, snatched 35 points through Danny de Guzman who posted a three game series scratch of 615. Cris Villavelez compiled a three game series scratch of 600. Hero Garcia, Rene Santiago and Rod Morales fired separate three game series scratch of 570, 546 and 502. The Forwarders registered overall team series of 2,905 points.
Lux Progress hooked 31.5 points. Chas Balisalisa topscored by carding 598 series scratch in three sets. Joe Flores with 567 series while Jun Lasaga, Zaldy Parinas and Rudy Valenzuela sealed a separate series of 527, 526 and 492. An overall team output of 2,839 was recorded by the Lux Progress team keglers.
SDC Kohler garnered 29.5 points through Raul delos Reyes, Larry Santos and Roger Daquioag. Delos Reyes and Santos toppled 575 and 650 series while Daquioag shot 559 series. Boy Casio and Egay Samartino scored a separate three game series of 540 and 499. The SDC Kohler quintet recorded an overall team output of 2799 pinfalls.
A total of 25 points were submitted by the Gandour Yamama with Leo Pangilinan with 535. Terry Naorbe was next with 531 in three outings. Adrian Abrenica, Rey Pormilda and Liny Suriaga chipped in with series of 510, 502 and 499. The Gandour Yamama team garnered an overall team series handicap of 2,760 points.

Meanwhile in the just concluded FTBJ Anniversary Tournament held recently at the Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center, the Top 10 winners were: Mar Cabrera — Champion, 2nd place — Toto Lim, 3rd place — Dhads Gueco, 4th place — Danny de Guzman, 5th place —Randy Mata, 6th place — Zaldy Parinas, 7th place — Rene Santiago, 8th place — Edwin Ronquillo, 9th place — Bonnie Garcia and 10th place — Bien Hermosura.
