JEDDAH, 10 October 2003 — The Community Chess Club declared that due to conflicting schedules of chess participants in the Nescafe chess tournament, the Stepladder Knockout Final will begin this coming Friday and will be held on days as per availability of the ladder players during the week.
The tenth series dubbed as Seawave Resort Chess Tournament is an ongoing Community Chess Club project. Basically Phase One, is positioning system that allows players to move down the ladder by defeating opponents whom they challenge.
The Stepladder Knockout Final however, is a formal event. The Stepladder Knockout Final will comprise of two games of Active Chess timing of 30 minutes each player and in the case of a 1-1 result, the match will be settled by one Semi-Active chess with 15 minutes each on the clock.

Ladder five (Irshad Hussain of TransDesert, Marvin Franco of Bashawri Optical, Ahmed Khatooa of Arifco, Engineer Froilan Miro of Al Murj Electro, Oscar Calicdan of BTC and Keith Mcloskey of Sharbatly).
The players at the last ladder who applied their options to be chartered in the struggle bracket of the Stepladder Knockout Final were Bonnie Javier of EKC-SV Cargo Reservation, Abe Abordo of EKC-SV Cabin Crew, Rod Manansala EKC-SV Cargo Claims, Joey Cadalin, Francis Cagubcub, Ed Valle, Erwin Pante and Manolo Mandigma of SMC Metal Sheet.
