MUSCAT, 12 October 2003 — Oman and the United Arab Emirates yesterday formalized ratification of the border agreement signed last year by exchanging documents.
According to the official ONA news agency Omani Foreign Minister Yussef ibn Alawi and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamdan ibn Zayed Al-Nahyan signed a memorandum on the exchange of the documents at a ceremony in Sohar, some 300 km north of Muscat. Oman and the UAE signed an agreement in June 2002 demarcating the border between the two countries.
