RIYADH, 17 October 2003 — Filipino Basketball League was off to a good start in its Inter-Company Open Invitational Basketball Tournament 6 feet below category in the White Palace Hotel basketball court recently.

The tournament which is participated by eight teams was formally opened by Peter Dellosa, director of technical affairs and welcomed by Mag’s dela Cruz the FBI president.

The tournament Commissioner Egay Somera led the draw lots to determine the teams that will play the opening game. The participating teams are Panda Savola, Meed/AlRabie, Al AMEI Cargo, Al Khorayef, Thaipan sports, Prince Sultan dairy farm, Al Amal and Hatco Communications team.

The opening game was between Savola Panda and AL AMEI cargo and the second game was between Al Khorayef and Meed Al Rabie team.

Al AMEI team beat Savola Panda 54- 41 in a defensive opening game while Meed fell to defeat 44-71 against the more agile Al khoryef team.

Both Al AMEI and Al Khorayef dominated the game from the start to the finish. The FBL will soon open its inter-school category on of Oct. 22 which will also be held at the white Palace Hotel court.

The confirmed participating teams are following Riyadh International School (RIS), Second Philippine International School (SPIS), International Philippine school in Riyadh (IPSR), Noor Maarefa International School(NIS), Al Taj International School and Elite International School.
