JEDDAH, 25 December 2003 — Saudi Arabia’s 277 charitable organizations have spent more than SR1.1 billion on various humanitarian projects inside the Kingdom, according to Dhaifullah Al-Balawi, supervisor of the organizations at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Speaking to Al-Madinah Arabic daily, he denied reports that the government had closed some charitable organizations.
