JEDDAH, 25 December 2003 — Al-Hilal scored an important win against Shola 3-0 in Kharj. The win, third for Hilal, lifted the Riyadh team to the top position with 9 points in Group A.

Hilal need a win or a draw against Ittihad to qualify for the next phase. All the goals came in the second half. Sultan Al-Bargan scored the first goal from a penalty kick in the 74th minute, Badr Al-Kharashi hit the second two minutes later and Ahmad Al-Suwaileh rounded off the tally in the 79th minute.

In the second game on Tuesday, Al-Taie qualified to the second round after winning 1-0 against Al-Wehda in Makkah. Taie is in the first position in Group C with 9 points, followed by Al-Qadisiya and Wehda, each with one point.

In Riyadh, Al-Shabab earned three important points by beating Riyadh 2-0 and lifted it to the top of Group B with 9 points. All goals were scored in the second half. Atram scored in the 52nd minute and Faisal Al-Sultan in the 63rd minuet. Shabab just need a draw or a win to qualify to the next round. In Group D, Al-Ittifaq scored a huge 5-0 win against Khaleej in Dammam. Saleh Basheer started the goalfest in the 48th minute, Junior 81st minute, Saud Al-Oboud in the 88th minute, Fayez Al-Subaie (90th) and Abdulrahman Al-Kahtani in injury time were the other scorers. Al-Nasr and Ittifaq are vying for qualification from this group.
