YANBU, 26 December 2003 — In a match between Blue Star and Royal Commission "B" cricket teams in Yanbu Cricket League/Al Yasrah Winter League 2003, the score was tied at 166 in the 20 overs encounter.
Blue Star won the toss and set their rivals a winning target of 167 runs. Amoudi 34 runs, Zulfikar 22 were the main scorer. Pasha claimed 3 wickets for 27 runs & Dr. Aamir took 3 wickets for 22 runs for Royal Commission "B".
Chasing the target, the opening partnership was worth 98 runs between Dr. Aamir and Pasha in 12 overs. Blue Star came back strongly and restricted Royal Commission "B" to 166 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 allotted overs.
By virtue of less wickets fallen, Royal Commission "B" were declared winners of the match and Pasha of RC "B" claimed the Man of the Match award for his brilliant performance both with the ball and the bat.
In another encounter, Al-Macon Beat Royal Commission "A" by two wickets.
RC "A" elected to bat first and scored 147 for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Qadir Sadiq once again batted patiently for his 47 runs. Iqbal Patel added 25 valuable runs and Hassan Shah scored 18. Tariq claimed 4 wickets for 18 runs and Balwinder took 2 wickets for 21 runs for Almacon.
Al-Macon lost three batsmen in the second over with the just seven runs on the board. Then Tariq, who single-handedly lifted the team's spirits by hitting to all corners of the ground, got injured and retired hurt.
The match turned Royal Commission's way when 8 wickets fell in quick succession. But Tariq returned and took charge to score the winning runs and was declared Man of the Match for his unbeaten 64 runs and 4 wickets for 18 runs.
Shah Hassan took 3 wickets for 14 runs and Riaz Ahmed took 3 for 19 runs for Royal Commission "A".
