ALKHOBAR, 26 December 2003 — A top Czech tennis doubles team will be visiting the Eastern Province to play local Filipino talents at the Algosaibi Hotel recreation center.
Franta Cermak and Ota Fukarek, who rank in the ATP Top 10 Doubles Team, will play against the top Filipino pair in the Eastern Province, Roderick Lazaro and Cocoy Ares on Jan. 2, 2004.
Navarro said that Cermak and Fukarek, who are expected to play both at the Qatar Open and the Australian Open early next year, were invited by Franz Baldinger of Gulf Haulage and Heavy Lift Co, the main sponsors of the event.
The Jubailedon Tennis Club at the Mortco Compound in Jubail chaired by Ed Kur will also host exhibition matches on Jan. 1.
The games on Jan. 2 at the Algosaibi Hotel marks the first tennis event in next year to be organized and managed by the Bankers Tennis Association as a special service to the tennis playing community.
