TRIVANDRUM, 3 January 2003 — At least nine people, seven of them women, were killed and 28 injured after a bus spun out of control and fell into a paddy field some three meters deep from a hilly road at Panamaram in the northern Kerala district of Wayanad yesterday morning. Police identified the dead as Tintu Mathew, 19, Shilu Jose, 28, Abdul Wahab, 52, Shinu Thoppil, 20, Mary Mathew, 52, Tressa, 25, Jimmy Jacob, 30, Latamani, 40 and Brijit, 50.
