HYDERABAD, 3 January 2003 — A close associate of multi-crore rupee inter-state stamp paper scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi arrested by the Special Investigation Team of the Andhra Pradesh police, has been remanded to police custody till Jan. 8. Rayees Quadri, a transport operator with close links with Telgi, was nabbed by the SIT in the city late on Thursday night while he was returning from Kazipet. He had introduced Telgi to Vijayender Reddy, an inspector of police.
