JEDDAH, 12 January 2004 — The Gulf Cooperation Council and India are organizing their first industrial conference in Bombay for two days from Feb. 17. “The GCC-India conference will bring together ministers, senior officials, business delegations and opinion makers from the GCC states and India representing the whole spectrum of their economies,” Indian Ambassador Kamaluddin Ahmed said in a statement yesterday.
According to him, the conference will focus on four priority sectors — trade, investment, technology transfer, including IT, and industrial cooperation including small enterprises. The Confederation of Indian Industry is the lead organizer of the event.
