NEW DELHI, 24 January 2004 — The BJP is still awaiting a wish list from Rashtriya Kranti Party (RKP) leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh for his return to the saffron fold.
The party now seems to be ready to sacrifice anything to pave the way for his homecoming.
Although the main negotiators, BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan, and Rajya Sabha MPs Dinananth Mishra and Balbir Punj, who met Kalyan Singh in Lucknow on Wednesday, are tightlipped about what transpired in the meeting, it is understood that Kalyan has been offered a three-point rehabilitation package.
Well-placed sources said that the BJP has offered Kalyan the post the president of its state unit, or leader of the legislative party, or overall incharge of the state unit.
